EDUCATIONAL INFORMATION:

Tulsi Herb: Also referred to as "Holy Basil", Tulsi has been revered for its medicinal value for thousands of years. Ayurvedic writings describe Holy Basil as a pillar of holistic herbal medicine and a goddess incarnated in plant form (the mother medicine of nature). Holy Basil remains one of the most cherished of India's sacred healing plants. We use a blend of Krishna, Rama, and Vana varieties; all belong to the mint family and are cousins of a Michigan annual, Sweet Basil.

Green Rooibos:Naturally caffeine-free, this herb is high in antioxidants. Green Rooibos, moreso than Red Rooibos, is preserved during processing, hence, giving it more antioxidants, nutrients, and minerals than other types of Rooibos. Rooibos is being studied for its help in reducing allergic reactions.

Pink Peppercorn: chosen to "raise the throat heat" in this blend and to aid in the absorption of other component properties. Visual appeal.

Cardamom: These pods are the fruit of a tropical plant closely related to Ginger, and is among the word's most expensive spices (after Vanilla and Saffron) due to its labor-intensity. It is said that Cardamom can be used to aide digestion and promote clear breathing. It is an internationally-used spice that has a cool, minty aroma and flavor.

Lemongrass:This plant is rich in potassium, anti-oxidants, Vitamins A and C, as well as Citral, which has strong antimicrobial qualities

Orange:Loaded with enzymes, numerous flavonoids (over 60!), phyto-nutrients, plus Vitamin C, Vitamin B1, Choline, Folic Acid, d-limonene, alpha-carotene, beta-carotene, aldehydes, and other minerals and vitamins.

Ginger:The root or stem (known as the rhizome) is packed with phenolic compounds that help improve digestion. High levels of antioxidants  (gingerol, curcumin, and zingerone) improve memory, attention, and cognitive function

Green Tea Gunpowder Pearls:Green Tea, know for its unique antioxidant and cognitive function support, continues to gain momentum as scientists prove the many speculated benefits of this beloved Camellia sinensis leaf.

Calendula Petals (seen in picture below): This herb is used for a number of things, including cosmetic and culinary uses, a fiber dye plant, and for its healing properties. It is a soothing antiseptic, and an excellent skin healer as well as digestive aid. We like how it gives a  soothing "cream-like" effect on the palate and just one of the reasons we grow annually and use in many of our products!

I am a fan of Tulsi Citrus I alternate it with blueberry blessings and hummingbird nectar. I think that light of day organics is a very good company and drink one their products daily.
