Size

Ingredients: Organic Lemon peel, Organic Chicory root, Organic Ginger, Organic Lemongrass, Organic Lemon Balm, Organic Lemon Myrtle, Organic Orange peel, Organic Hibiscus, Organic Cinnamon and Organic Coriander

Blender's Notes: Just like its name..very lemon-y and ginger-y. Dark liquor from the roasted chicory root (we grow and roast right here). This is what I blended up and used often while pregnant for morning sickness and the choice of many suffering from nausea after chemotherapy or during the flu. This is an excellent choice hot or iced. Chakra #3 of our Chakra collection to address Solar Plexus-area issues. Naturally caffeine-free.

EDUCATIONAL INFORMATION:

Lemon Peel
Why throw away the peel? Many of us are accustomed to adding lemon juice to our tea, but the peel is even higher in vitamins and nutrients such as calcium and vitamin C. Lemon peel adds a refreshing, sunny, and  zesty note to this tisane.
Chicory Root
Commonly used as a substitute for coffee, Chicory Root has actually been cultivated over 5,000 years for medicinal and culinary use. This ‘friend of the liver’ is a gentle tonic, diuretic and laxative. The deep, roasted flavor balances out the brightness of the lemon and ginger in this blend nicely.
Ginger
This rhizome is packed with phenolic compounds that help improve digestion. Its high levels of antioxidants (gingerol, curcumin and zingerone) have been used to improve memory, attention and cognitive function. It adds a lovely spicy layer to this blend!
Lemongrass
You may have encountered Lemongrass before in Southeast Asian cuisine as it is native to India, China, and Thailand. It can be grown as an annual herb here in Northern Michigan. This aromatic plant is a powerful anti-inflammatory agent and can boost circulation. Its lemon flavor is very light and refreshing.
Lemon Balm
One of our favorite mood-elevating perennial herbs here at the farm, Lemon Balm has a gentle, calming effect. Its use dates back to the ancient Romans and Greeks, where it was even used in spells to heal broken hearts and attract romantic love. It provides a delicate lemon flavor and appealing lemony aroma.
Lemon Myrtle
A traditional food of Australia, Lemon Myrtle is used both in cuisine and as a healing plant. It has powerful antimicrobial and anti-fungal properties, and provides a clean, delicate lemon and menthol flavor. Another mood elevator...we love this!
Orange Peel
Contributing a lovely sweetness and orange hue to this blend, Orange peel is also exceptionally high in immune supporting Vitamin C and Pectin.
Hibiscus
Popular all over the world, this beautiful flower is known for its deep red color and mildly sour taste. Very high in vitamin C, it also supports an active metabolism and can assist with gradual weight loss, and blood pressure regulation.
Cinnamon
Chinese medicine and Ayurveda have long revered Cinnamon for its near superpowers, using it to treat ailments such as colds, indigestion and cramps, not to mention for its anti-clotting properties as well as its attributes supporting cognitive function and memory
Coriander
Actually the seed of the cilantro plant, Coriander is sweet and toasty with a warm aroma and flavor. It's a common ingredient in spice rubs, marinades, chilis, and is very nice in this tisane as well! Look for the little tan round seeds in this product.

Culinary ideas for Lemony ginger sunshine: The bright citrus and peppery ginger notes in Lemony-Ginger Sunshine make it a perfect grilling companion. Boil eggs in it! Brew a batch and ice it to sip on while you heat things up, or grind it up with breadcrumbs to use as a breading for whitefish!

Lemony-Ginger Sunshine and The solar plexus Chakra #3~

Welcome some sunshine into your life with this perfectly named zingy blend.  Lemony-Ginger Sunshine was created to support the Third Chakra area of the body (located between the navel and the waist - also called the "solar plexus"). The Third Chakra is described as the energetic nexus where we nurture and balance our willpower and confidence. This naturally caffeine-free tisane delivers the rich flavor of roasted chicory root with a lemony ginger kick. A note from the owner, Angela: “This is what I blended up and used while pregnant with our boys to help combat morning sickness,"  and this is a popular choice of many customers suffering from nausea after chemotherapy or during the flu.

Lemony-Ginger Sunshine (Chakra #3) makes a great water taste

Lemony-Ginger Sunshine (Chakra #3) is great as a hot tea but it is also great to add a little to iced drinking water for a light refreshing taste and pleasing flavor...we will be making ice tea with it this summer!

I picked this up at the Farm Store. It smelled pretty strong so I asked if I could buy a cup and taste it first. It is the most delicious tea. It has become the family favorite here. Great hot or iced. I like it plain or with a dash of honey.
